High Tea

British tradition enjoying celebratory status

Decadently Delicious… Freshly Baked Treats

It was in 1840 that the Duchess of Bedford shared her guilty secret of enjoying tea and snacks a few hours before dinner, setting a trend that would evolve to become a British tradition. Today, high tea in Britain enjoys celebratory status…flutes of champagne and pretty pastries are a given, while exotic nibbles and potent cocktails mean that what now constitutes this most genteel of refreshments might well shock the Duchess of Bedford.

At The Henley we offer a proudly traditional high tea with a selection of decadently delicious and freshly baked savoury and sweet treats. A curated selection to compliment your freshly brewed tea (or coffee) set in the Henley Manor Social Rooms or enjoyed in our gorgeous gardens.

Our divine dining options are not just for the lucky hotel guests…The Henley loves its locals and is open for decadent dinners, fabulous functions, cool cocktails and our famous Henley high teas…or just call in for a sneaky G&T in the garden and our dedicated Henley team will be delighted to welcome you.
